Webster Baptist Church – Part-Time Pastor Job Description (20 hours/week)

Webster Baptist Church, located in Webster, New York, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time pastor to lead our congregation in spiritual growth, community engagement, and faithful service. Rooted in the American Baptist tradition of worship, fellowship, and mission, our church values connection with Christ and outreach to the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preaching & Worship Leadership Prepare and deliver weekly sermons that inspire and challenge the congregation. Plan and lead worship services in collaboration with church staff and volunteers.

• Pastoral Care Provide spiritual support and care to members through visitation, counseling, and prayer, especially during times of illness, grief, or personal crisis.

• Administration Work with church leadership to guide the administrative functions of the church, including staff coordination, communication, and participation in board and committee meetings.

• Church Fellowship Foster a welcoming and inclusive church environment by encouraging participation in church activities and nurturing relationships among members.

• Mission & Outreach Support and promote the church’s mission efforts locally and globally. Encourage congregational involvement in service projects and partnerships.

• Community Engagement Represent Webster Baptist Church in the broader Webster community and build relationships with local organizations, faith groups, and civic leaders.

Qualifications:

• Ordained or licensed minister in good standing with American Baptist Churches USA.

• Theological training, M.Div. preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in pastoral leadership and worship planning.

• Commitment to inclusive ministry and community outreach.
