The
Church Technology Grant
First offered in 2020 to assist churches in meeting the immediate needs of pandemic-adapted worship, ABCRGR is making these grants available on an on-going basis.
What can the grant be used for?

New or updated computer technology and software. Many churches use old computer systems which make office and financial functions inefficient, a deepened security risk, and more costly as upgrades to software become more expensive the greater the leap in the upgrade. (Note that one grant could feasibly purchase several years of a subscription-based cloud-based software.)

New or updated technology for recording or livestreaming worship and other church activities. This may include recording equipment, improvements to audio equipment, start-up costs for livestreaming services, and so forth.

New or updated technology for educational purposes: children or adult Sunday School, Bible studies, etc.

Training opportunities for staff or volunteer tech crews. If you have the equipment but need help learning it, you may apply for a grant for educational opportunities.

This grant cannot be used as stipends for individuals managing technology, as that requires a sustainable plan within a church budget.
Who is eligible?

Churches in good standing with American Baptist Churches of Rochester/Genesee.

Each church is eligible for one grant every four years. (In other words, if you received a grant in 2022, you would be eligible for another in 2026.)
Application and Deadlines

Rolling Deadlines: You may apply for this grant at any time. However, limited funds are available each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Applications submitted in July are more likely to receive funding than those submitted later.

Please complete the application fully and accurately. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The stronger the application, the more likely it will be awarded a grant.
