Providing a structured, proven discernment process within reach of any church in the Region to help them discern creative uses of their property to furtther their mission and build long-trm financial resilience.
What can the grant be used for?

This grant covers the cost of the Good Futures Accelerator kit. The Good Futures Accelerator, offered by RootedGood, is a self-paced process that helps congregations creatively use their buildings to further their mission and build long-term financial resilience. Working through the Accelerator, a church assembles a steering team, assesses its property and community context, and develops concrete options for the future of its facilities.

Congregations that complete the Accelerator become eligible to apply for grants of up to $5,000 through the annual Good Futures Awards, providing a natural pathway from discernment to implementation. (This grant opportunity is offered through RootedGood, not ABCRGR; we play no role in their grant process.)​

Churches in good standing with American Baptist Churches of Rochester/Genesee.

Each church is eligible for a single grant.
What is the process?

Use the online application available at the link on this page. (The downloadable PDF of the application is available for you to prepare to complete the application online. Do not use it to submit.)

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed for acceptance by the Finance and Investment Committee.

You will receive notification of the award of your grant within 30 days.

Once you have been approved, you will purchase your kit online from RootedGood

Submit your receipt to office@abcrgr.org.

You will be reimbursed for the $750.00 purchase cost within 30 days of the office receiving your receipt.

Receipts must be submitted within 60 days of purchase or you will not be reimbursed. If you have questions or concerns, contact office@abcrgr.org
Application and Deadlines

Rolling Deadlines: You may apply for this grant at any time. However, limited funds are available each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Applications submitted in July are more likely to receive funding than those submitted later.

Please complete the application fully and accurately. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The stronger the application, the more likely it will be awarded a grant.
