About the event

Canandaigua Treaty Commemoration

At several of our region churches, we have been acknowledging the Haudenosaunee nation for several months now, and encouraging each other to learn more about them. Now we have an opportunity to do so!

On Saturday, November 11, we will join with the Creation Collaborative of the ABC-RGR region, on a field trip to Canandaigua. We will celebrate and learn about the Canandaigua Treaty, which took place in 1794 between the US and the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) nation, and is still in effect today.

2:00 PM Commemoration of Canandaigua Treaty, on the front lawn of the Ontario County Court House, 27 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY

The commemoration lasts about 30-45 minutes. Then people are welcome to view the actual treaty at the Ontario County Historical Society, 55 North Main Street, Canandaigua.

There will be a carpool leaving from Greece Baptist Church, 1230 Long Pond Road, at 1:00pm. We may have other carpool(s) leaving from other locations based on your RSVP.  Please RSVP to creationcollaborative020@gmail.com, or just come!

If you would like to meet us in Canandaigua, email creationcollaborative020@gmail.com with your text number so we can find you!
