About
"One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time." (Andre Gide) We know it's happening. The landscape of the Church Universal is changing rapidly. We are, in fact, just now coming to terms with shifts that have been happening for decades; they're just more difficult to ignore. As leaders in Christian ministry, we may find ourselves scrambling to figure out what happened or, even if we are just starting out in this landscape, we're not sure how to proceed. Everything we've learned about "church" seems to be in question, including what it means to be a "leader" in the first place. This six-month program will bring together participants in a mutual exploration of what it means to be a discerning leader of a faith community in confusing times. What is your definition of leadership? How do you see yourself as a leader? How can you better understand situations you're facing in your faith settings? What tools do you need to develop to be more effective? This program includes: --Monthly Zoom Meetings: third Monday of each month, starting on April 15, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern: two-hour sessions comprised of facilitator presentations, participant reflections, peer coaching experiences, and more. --Two one-on-one coaching sessions with Dr. Hasenauer during the six months of the course. --Required readings (estimated 4-5 hours of reading per month) --One presentation to the group on a reading of your choice --Downloadable resources, case studies, videos, and more Eligible participants are: -Ordained clergy pastoring congregations -Associate, Assistant, or other pastoral staff in congregations -Lay Pastors pastoring congregations -Chaplains or Clergy in Special Service (active) -Seminarians or those in lay ministry studies Registration fee: Free.
