American Baptist Youth of the Rochester/Genesee Region
are invited to join the

Youth Leader Core

Purpose:

To help you to be more aware of yourself, others and God...
To help you recognize and develop your special gifts and abilities...
To help you understand your values and how they affect your decisions...
To help you grow in your faith...
To equip you for leadership and ministry...

Program:

Youth Leader Core consists of 5 training weekends. You will experience Christian community, a growing sense of confidence in yourself , and a chance to grow in your leadership ability by learning from five areas of training:

Self Awareness...who am I???
Values...what's most important???
Faith...what do I believe???
Determining Mission...what are the needs???
Doing Mission...how do I prepare myself to meet the needs???

If you...

are currently in grades 10, 11, or 12
can make a commitment to attend 5 weekend events. (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon)
have the capacity to learn from others and with others
have the support and backing of your family and your local church and a willingness to become involved in your church

Then...

YLC may be for you!

Interested?

One...Talk it over with your family. They need to be in on your decision.

Two...Think & pray about it. It means 5 weekends when you won't be doing other things.

Three...Talk to leaders of your church (Pastor, Youth Advisors, Board of Christian Ed.) Will they support your involvement?

Four...Ask a YLC Graduate how they feel about their experience.

Five...Check with your pastor for further information and an application form.
